Aims to help young people aged 6 to 18 who are in great distress, e.g.:
• adolescents experiencing identity crisis and that reflects in strained relationship with the parents
• emotionally deprived youngsters with experience of physical and emotional violence, rape, sexual abuse, eating disorders;
• youngsters with continuing educational problems (formal education);
• youngsters in momentarily threatening situations;
• children who have already lived outside their nuclear families and are unable to return to it.
And in all situations stated above the main objective of Youth Crisis Centre is to firstly protect the children and then to assist children, youngsters and their families in finding more efficient and productive ways of dealing with their problems.
We feel it is important to stress that all accommodations must be voluntarily.
It is also one of the rules of Youth Crisis Centre that parents be notified within 24 hours regarding the whereabouts of their child.
As for the future: we plan to develop additional programmes if a need for such programmes should be detected in the local environment.
